Quality Assurance services play an important role in the accreditation and recognition of qualifications within national, regional and international boundaries.
For the PQR, the quality assurance process that NQAs are expected to comply with when applying for registration of their qualifications provide the basis for assessment against internationally accepted principles of qualifications assessment.
At the regional level, the QA process complements what would have already been carried out at the national level and allows for pegging of the qualifications at the appropriate level on the regional framework amongst qualifications from other countries.
Services expected to be carried out for the PRQR through the Quality Assurance process:
- Develop a Quality Assurance Framework for the Pacific
- Work with countries to establish and strengthen their National Qualifications Agencies or similar bodies
- Develop PQR Quality Assurance policies to embrace the broad scope of national policies
- Ensure consistent application of Quality Assurance policies and processes across countries (fitness for purpose).
