The Pacific Region Education Partners, an informal network of donors and education agencies, are organising a regional conference, Harmonizing Monitoring and Evaluation for Better Education, on 2-4 July 2008.
The conference will be held at the Shangri-La’s Fijian Resort & Spa in Sigatoka. Participants will include Pacific Islands Ministers of Education, officials, development
and donor partners.
The overall objective of this conference is to assist countries develop appropriate strategies and build capacity in the education sector around monitoring and evaluation
for longer term development and better results.

The conference is being funded by AusAID and the World Bank, who have contracted the South Pacific Board for Educational Assessment (SPBEA) to organize this event. The development partners are: NZAID, UNICEF, UNESCO and SPBEA.
Participants are from the following 15 Pacific Island Countries: Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, PNG, FSM, Cook Islands, Niue, Palau, Tokelau, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, Nauru, Kiribati, Tuvalu & Marshall Islands.
Observers will include: PRIDE, SPC, ADB, ILO, USP, UNFPA, PIFS, SOPAC & SPREP
