The 3rd Conference for the Association of the Commonwealth, Examination and Accreditation BOdies (ACEAB) was be held in Fiji of March 2004 and was hosted by the South Pacific Board for Educational Assessment.

The theme of the Conference is Redefining the Roles of Educational Assessment. The theme was broad and allowed presenters to raise issues on the direction in which educational assessment was being used in their countries. These included the move from assessment of learning to assessment for learning, certification and selection roles, monitoring student achievement and teacher/school performance, role in the assessment of attitudes and values and many others related to the theme. This was another opportunity for all participants to review or raise their concerns about educational assessment in general. At the end of the conference it waspossible to identify trends, emerging concerns and matters that would possibly require further actions.
